The Whispering Well.
For this piece of micro fiction I have used a generic mix: the Jack & Jill nursery rhyme, the Gothic genre, and the Popular Romance genre. I was originally inspired by traditional Gothic tales that are set in antiquated places (ancient forests, church-yards, haunted mysterious manor houses, or sleepy villages that hold tragic secrets from the past).
In this tale, Jack is the deceased owner of Crown House who haunts the supposedly accursed Whispering Well. Jill is the hapless heroine who is compelled to participate in Jack’s fantastical game.
